Terms of use

Allison provides SEC and RIA regulatory research. It is provided by JNG Services LLC (“we”, “us”). These terms are the whole agreement between you and us for your use of Allison. By using Allison, you agree to them.

Allison is offered to businesses and their staff only, not to consumers, and in the United States only.

Informational research and human review

Allison may use artificial intelligence (AI) technology to generate content, outputs, or other information, from the underlying content, and may include features to simulate, process, or engage in human conversation in a natural way. AI-generated content (i) may be inaccurate and requires human review, (ii) is provided for general, non-tailored informational purposes only and is intended to provide compliance and regulatory knowledge, and (iii) should not be relied upon as a substitute for legal, accounting, tax, or other professional advice. Any output from Allison is not intended to and does not constitute professional advice or a service provided to you by JNG Services LLC.

Using Allison does not create an attorney-client or adviser relationship. Have the appropriate person at your firm or qualified counsel review an answer and its sources before acting, filing, advising a client, or setting policy. An answer is not a clearance, certification, or approval of your conduct.

Sources and limitations

Classifications describe the checks performed against Allison’s available research corpus. A quoted source and a grounded classification do not guarantee a complete or legally correct conclusion. Read every limitation and qualification together with the answer.

The corpus timestamp records when material was indexed, not the effective date of each provision. Individual authorities may have been amended, repealed, superseded, or interpreted differently. Confirm current authority and any relevant exceptions independently. An absence of matching authority is not evidence that no rule applies.

Allison’s library holds federal securities statutes, Title 17 of the Code of Federal Regulations (the rules of the SEC and of the CFTC), SEC staff guidance, and a little material from other regulators. It is not a library of state law, the FINRA rulebook, tax law or accounting standards, and it is not a complete collection of SEC material. See About for what it holds.

Accounts and acceptable use

Each account is for one person. Use only your own account and keep your password private. Do not try to bypass access controls, interfere with the service, access another user’s records, or use Allison for unlawful activity. Write to support@brightsmith.app if you believe an account has been compromised.

Submit general scenarios without client-identifying or confidential details. Automated scrubbing is limited and may miss identifying information. See the privacy notice before submitting a question.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or has a payment dispute.

You may close your account at any time by writing to support@brightsmith.app. Unused credit at closing is handled on a case-by-case basis.

Evidence and review

Saved research and evidence exports support your review process. Marking an answer for review adds a personal follow-up item; it does not automatically send the answer to counsel or obtain approval. You remain responsible for arranging review and preserving any records your firm requires.

Prices, credit and billing

Allison is paid for with credit. A credit pack costs $10 and is a one-time purchase. A subscription costs $20 a month. Each adds that dollar amount of credit to your account. Card payments are handled by Stripe.

Each question uses credit according to the research work it took. There is no fixed price per question. Your balance is always shown. Unused credit carries over from month to month while your account is open.

The subscription renews every month at $20 until you cancel it. You can cancel at any time from the billing page. A canceled subscription stops at the end of the month already paid for, and credit already added stays.

Credit packs are one-time purchases and do not auto-renew. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis — contact us if you’re unsatisfied. Subscription payments are handled the same way.

The price shown at checkout is the price you pay. Prices may change for future purchases and renewals. Prices do not include any taxes that may apply.

The service

We do not promise that Allison will be available at any particular time or without interruption. Allison is provided as it is, and features may change or be withdrawn.

Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we accept no liability for any loss from using Allison or relying on an answer. Where the law does not allow that, our liability is limited to what you paid us in the previous 12 months.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New Jersey, and disputes will be heard in the courts of New Jersey.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the current version, and continuing to use Allison means you accept it.
